BURLINGAME

The City of Burlingame is an American suburban city of approximately 28,000 people in San Mateo County, California. It is located on the San Francisco Peninsula and has a significant shoreline on San Francisco Bay.  It is known for its high residential quality of life and is often referred to as the City of Trees. Industrial growth was spurred in the 1960s and 1970s by proximity to the San Francisco International Airport. The City of Burlingame has many beautiful hotels along the San Francisco Bayfront and is a significant vacation spot for people wishing to visit the San Francisco Bay Area.

CAMPBELL

Located in Santa Clara County, Campbell is a very eclectic community conveniently located by transportation access and surrounded by communities such as Los Gatos, Saratoga, and San Jose.  This close-knit community has taken pride in maintaining its loyalty to the varying tastes and interests of its residents and the town’s history.  It has experienced sustained growth over the past few years, and its downtown area boasts a thriving commerce and maintenance of the quaint surrounding neighborhood.  Just about any type of living quarters can be found in this unique community.

CUPERTINO

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Cupertino is a city situated just west of San Jose. It was incorporated on October 10, 1955 and is famously known as the home of Apple’s global headquarters.  The city of around 58,000 residents is known for its great school system and was even ranked by Forbes Magazine as one of the most educated small towns in the country. Cupertino is made up of numerous subdivisions, with a majority of them developed in the early 1960’s. In a thumbprint of a past modern architecture, there’s also a huge area in Cupertino that is home to almost 225 Eichler homes.  Cupertino is also home to 112-acre De Anza College, one of the larger community colleges in the Bay Area. The campus houses the Flint Center, which is the primary venue for performing arts in the area.

DALY CITY

Known as the “Gateway to the Peninsula”, Daly City is located at the northernmost edge of San Mateo County adjacent to San Francisco and extends from the Pacific Ocean on the west to nearly San Francisco Bay on the east.  Daly City, central to two of the Bay Area’s major job growth zones of San Francisco and San Mateo counties, has become a regional hub for retail, healthcare and small business.  Because of its central location, diversified economy, excellent transportation links, and a growing young and productive labor force, Daly City’s future for economic growth is bright.  

FREMONT

Located at the southernmost base of Alameda County, Fremont is a city situated just northwest of Milpitas. It was incorporated on January 23, 1956 and is named after American explorer John Charles Fremont.  The city of around 220,000 residents is the fourth largest city in the Bay Area, based on population.  Included in this large number of residents is the largest population of Afghan Americas in the US. Following the invasion of Afghanistan by the Soviet Union in 1979, a large number of Afghans were granted asylum and called Fremont their new home.  Due to its close proximity to Silicon Valley, Fremont is home to many high-tech companies including Lam Research, Western Digital, Boston Scientific and Seagate. More recently it has elevated its standing in the technology space with the opening of the Tesla Factory, the main production facility of electric car manufacturer Tesla Motors.

GILROY

Located at the southernmost base of Santa Clara County, Gilroy is a city situated between San Martin and San Juan Bautista.  It was incorporated on March 12, 1870 and is named after Scottish seaman John Gilroy.  The city of around 50,000 residents is best known for its production of garlic.  Gilroy has captured the nickname “Garlic Capital of the World;” and coordinates the Gilroy Garlic Festival, one of the largest food festivals in the US.  In addition, Gilroy has other family activities and destinations including Coyote Lake-Harvey Bear Ranch and Gilroy Gardens, a garden themed family amusement park.

HAYWARD

LOS GATOS

Located at the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, Los Gatos is a town situated between Monte Sereno and San Jose. It was incorporated on August 10, 1952 and is Spanish for “the cats.”  Today, the city is influenced by neighboring Silicon Valley and has many high tech companies calling it home, most notably Netflix.  Outdoor activities are abundant in Los Gatos and include such destinations as La Rinconada Country Club, Los Gatos Creek Trail, Heintz Open Space and Vasona Park.  In addition to the traditional recreation activities you’ll find at Vasona Park, patrons can experience the Fantasy of Lights during the holiday season. The Fantasy of Lights transforms the park into a winter wonderland with a light display that is unequalled in the Bay Area.

MORGAN HILL

Located at the southernmost base of Silicon Valley, Morgan Hill is a city situated between San Martin and San Jose.  The city of around 40,000 residents lies on land that was once inhabited by the Matalan tribe. Today it’s a bedroom community for the technology industry to the north. There are even several tech companies that have made Morgan Hill the headquarters for their operations.  Outdoor activities are abundant in Morgan Hill and include such Bay Area staples as Anderson Lake County Park, Coyote Creek Parkway and Henry W. Coe State Park, the second-largest park in California.

PALO ALTO

The City of Palo Alto is more than 100 years old, and is named after a majestic 1000 (not 250) year old coastal redwood tree along San Francisquito Creek, where early Spanish explorers settled. The blend of business and residential areas anchored by a vibrant downtown defines Palo Alto’s unique character. REDWOOD CITY

The City of Redwood City is a San Francisco Bay Area community located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the technology-rich region extending from the San Francisco Peninsula to the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains.  Redwood City is the third largest city within the County of San Mateo, with 82,881 residents. The city enjoys an average of 255 sunny days a year, which it boasts via the city slogan: "Climate Best by Government Test.”  Incorporated in 1867, Redwood City is home to the San Mateo County History Museum (located in the county's old courthouse) and the only active deep water port within the south bay of San Francisco.  The city's vibrant downtown, quickly becoming known as the entertainment hub of the San Francisco Peninsula, offers residents, visitors, and businesses a unique retail, entertainment, and restaurant experience.

SAN CARLOS

Located at the midpoint between San Francisco and San Jose on the San Francisco Peninsula, San Carlos is a small affluent suburb neighboring Belmont on the north and Redwood City on the south. It was incorporated on July 8, 1925 and its nickname is “The City of Good Living”.  The city of around 30,000 residents has that great small town feel with a vibrant and walkable business district. One of the main draws to the city is Laurel Street, which is home to many restaurants and businesses that line the one mile stretch of road. In the summer, Laurel Street is home to a weekly farmer’s market known as “Hot Harvest Nights.”  San Carlos is also home to the Hiller Aviation Museum, located next to the San Carlos Airport. The museum specializes in helicopter and aviation history with more that forty aircraft including a replica of the first aircraft to fly.

SAN JOSE

San Jose, officially known as the “City of San Jose”; is the third-largest city by population in California and the tenth-largest by population in the United States with more than 1 million people calling it home. San Jose is the largest city within the Bay Area and the largest city in Northern California and also serves as the county seat of Santa Clara County. San Jose was founded on November 29, 1777, and served as a farming community to support Spanish military installations at San Francisco and Monterey.  San Jose started to shift from a small farming community to a more urbanized metropolitan area.  The rapid growth continued in the 80s and 90s as many of the high-technology and electronic companies started to set up shop in San Jose and the surrounding areas.  San Jose’s location within the booming local high tech industry earned it the nickname “Capital of Silicon Valley.”  Many well-known technology giants call San Jose home including eBay, PayPal, Cisco, Adobe, Siri and Bitcoin. In addition to the thriving business community, San Jose also has a huge appetite for sports with the NHL’s San Jose Sharks having one of the most loyal and enthusiastic fan bases in the country.  San Jose’s downtown historic district is known for its architectural landmarks, from the 1883 Italianate-style Oddfellows building to Spanish Colonial Revival structures. The downtown area is also home to the Tech Museum of Innovation, devoted to the exploration of science and technology

SAN MATEO

Located in the heart of the San Francisco Peninsula, San Mateo is one of the larger suburbs in the Bay Area.  It was incorporated on September 4, 1894 and is bordered by Burlingame to the north and Belmont to the south.  The city of around 100,000 residents has a true downtown area that boasts a large number of specialty shops, small businesses and world-renowned restaurants. It’s also home to a large 12-screen movie theater which shows first-run and classic movies year round.  San Mateo is also the site of the Hillsdale Mall, located near the 101 freeway.  One of the larger malls on the San Francisco Peninsula, the Hillsdale Mall is home to many specialty stores, anchor retail establishments and popular restaurants.

SANTA CLARA

Located 45 miles southeast of San Francisco, Santa Clara is at the epicenter of Silicon Valley and is home to many well-known tech giants including Intel. It was incorporated on July 5, 1852 and was named after the Spanish mission that was established on the land in 1777.  The city of around 120,000 residents is the site of Levi Stadium, which is the home of the San Francisco 49ers and the location of Super Bowl 50.  It’s also the scene of many high-profile music concerts and many other large entertainment events.  Santa Clara is also the site of Santa Clara University, the oldest institution of higher learning in the state of California. It was established in1851 and has remained in its original location for the last 165 years.

SARATOGA

Located on the west side of the Santa Clara Valley, Saratoga is an affluent city with a touch of high-end boutiques and wineries.  It was incorporated on October 22, 1956 and was originally named McCarthysville when it was founded by Martin McCarthy.  The city of around 30,000 residents has some of the most expensive real estate in the country and is home to many executives from nearby Silicon Valley tech companies. It has also been home to several actors and film executives, most notably Steven Spielberg, who attended Saratoga High School.  Saratoga also has a large art and wine community with such remarkable venues as Villa Montalvo, Hakone Gardens and Mountain Winery.

SUNNYVALE

Located in the middle of Silicon Valley, Sunnyvale is the seventh most populous city in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was incorporated on December 24, 1912 and is bordered by Mountain View, Santa Clara and Cupertino.  The city of around 140,000 residents has easy access to transportation with CalTrain having a major stop in the center of town.  Additionally Sunnyvale lies conveniently between highway 101 and 280 and is only 15 minutes from Mineta San Jose International Airport.  Sunnyvale is also one of the safer cities in the country. Many believe this is due to their unique approach to public safety.  Sunnyvale is one of the few cities in the country that has a unified department of public safety. This means every public safety employee is trained as a firefighter, police officer and EMT. They can respond to any crisis, in any capacity.
